From Jinja to Destinely
Destinely began in Jinja, Uganda, a place known for the Nile, adventure, and local operators who know the destination better than any brochure.
Again and again, the same gap showed up. Guests booked a hotel room online, then asked the front desk what to do next. Guides, cultural hosts, and adventure companies were nearby, ready to welcome them. The path between that stay and those local experiences was messy: phone numbers on scraps of paper, last-minute WhatsApp threads, and bookings that never quite reached the people who earned them.
Hotels wanted to help without adding more work for their teams. Operators wanted guests who were already in town. Communities wanted tourism spend to stay local. Destinely was created to close that gap: connect the moment after booking a room to trusted local experiences, and keep more of the value with the people who make the place worth visiting.
Today Destinely is building from East Africa outward, starting where we live and work, and growing with the hotels and operators who share that ambition.
