Visit a local tree nursery and discover how young trees are raised before being planted in farms, gardens or restoration areas. Learn about seeds, seedlings, watering and the care required to help trees grow. With guidance from your host, take part in a simple nursery activity and explore the role trees can play in supporting soil, shade, biodiversity and local livelihoods.
Walk through the nursery, learn about the different stages of seedling growth and observe how plants are cared for. Depending on the host’s activities, you may help fill seedling bags, transplant a seedling or plant a tree.
